Speech to Text Resources

I found the Carnegie Mellon University Speech Software resources via Spinx by way of Slashdot's Recorded Speech to Text Software article; it seems the quest to translate speech into meaningful text is still on and I am glad to see the contributions from the Open Source World.

I tried to play with CMU Communicator, but it is a 130 megabyte download and it seems to work only on the Unix Platform though there are other resources from the Carnegie website to keep me occupied.

Anyway, here's hoping I won't have to wait till 2008 for a workable Speech to Text PDA.
